Our B&B In Treviso

We used Booking.com for a lot of the next places we stayed. It didn't disappoint us. Rooms and accommodations were clean, and often unique. This is the Daphne, in Treviso. Our hosts lived on the first floor, with their dog and 2 cats, named after fast food, which I found very cute. (Wendy the dog, Mac and Kentucky were the cats). They were born in the area, but each moved to Australia sometime in their life, and then met and moved back. He especially had a great Aussie accent, and they both spoke English easily. The owners were one of the top rated on the website and it showed. Here is a picture of our living spaces, and I found that I was really ready for a couch seat, which is the vantage point for the long shot into the dining area.
We had enough time when we got to Treviso to explore some of the city on foot, find the train station which we planned to use to get to Venice, and eat dinner, which we chose to do in the main city piazza, the Piazza del Signori. This city has its own canal systems, so there were many picturesque bridges, but I don't have a great photo for you. It's a walled city, which I also found to be charming, but could not get a great photo of that either. Luckily, if you're interested, Google has a lot of pictures from others. The big white gate for the walls of the city is also the marker where cars are not permitted to go any farther. The food shops proudly display their hams and olives.
There is a famous fountain in Treviso where you can fill your water bottles. I won't mention it by name because the post will get flagged. It was built in 1559, but vandalized until they took the original out of the town square, and built a more, ahem, resiliant replica. You might google that too. Back in the day, they would change the water out to wine for 3 days in the fall.
When you order drinks in Italy, they also bring you a snack. I had my first pizza and prosecco
in Treviso! The restaurant was located in the heart of a renaissance square, where the frescos are still visible. (Picture the ceilings above me, that pizza was as much about the setting as the food.)
