Hiking in Switzerland
After a wonderful brunch and amazing vistas, we took the cable car down as far as the village of Murren. Could there be a more quintessential Swiss view than these? I actually had a good cry here about how beautiful it was. (There may have been a lot of that on this trip, it was like a postcard, only it was real.
This is a view as we were coming down in the cable car.
It was quite warm here too, and many more tourists wandering the streets with luggage. Up and down with the cobblestones, they tugged their suitcases toward the cable car or the train. We considered hopping on the train and then we hiked awhile, got hot, and sat at the most lovely outdoor cafe. (We tried to keep count, we think we ate outside 16/18 days!) In the shade there was a slight breeze, and Prosecco. Chuck had several moments of fond memories of his time here as a ski patrol. I loved seeing it through his eyes. We got back to the beautiful valley apartment at dusk, and listened to the waterfall to drift to sleep.
